Sylia was born and raised in Montréal and is Algerian Kabyle. She’s heading into her second year in the Health and Life Sciences program at Dawson College. Back in high school, she received the Governor General’s Academic Medal for having the highest grades. Her passion for the brain and her dream of becoming a neurosurgeon led her to join Dawson’s neuroscience club, where she’s been exploring neuroscience beyond the classroom. This summer, she’s excited to be diving into a 10-week research internship to keep building on that interest. Outside of school, she loves weightlifting, drinking (a lot of) coffee, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.
