Preethi is a first year PhD student in the Quantitative Life Sciences (QLS) program at McGill. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) in Biotechnology in India. She then travelled to the UK to complete a Master’s degree (MSc) in Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Bristol. She worked in the US as a research assistant gaining some laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques at the State University of New York, Albany. Following this, she changed course to gain a more quantitative background, completing a Master’s degree (MS) in Applied Statistics at Loyola University Chicago, USA. After working in the tech industry for 3 years, she decided to return to molecular neuroscience to follow her passion. Her interest in neuropharmacology inspired her to do a rotation in the Bowie lab, where she will study the structure-function of AMPA receptor-auxiliary protein complexes.
