Dr. Ingrid Osswald

post-doctoral fellow

ingrid.osswald@mcgill.ca

Ingrid K. Osswald earned her undergraduate degree in Applied Biology at the Université Paris XII in France in 1998. She then spent the next three years working as a researcher both in France and Singapore, before joining McGill University in January 2003. She is currently using a combination of techniques to study the role of ionotropic glutamate receptor in the vertebrate retina.

Ingrid's work was initially funded by a doctoral fellowship from the Vision Network as well as by a Faculty of Medicine Internal Studentship from McGill University. She is now the recipient of a Banting & Best Doctoral Research Award from the CIHR. Ingrid’s also received a number of awards, such as the Boehringer Ingelheim Prize for best junior student presentation at our annual Departmental Research Day. Her published papers to date have been highlighted in editorials by Journal of Physiology and Journal of Neuroscience.
