MSc-PhD student |
I conducted my undergraduate
studies in Biology at the Universidad Simón Bolívar (http://www.bio.coord.usb.ve/index.html)
in Venezuela. After a couple of years working for a private
company I felt the need to return to the basic research
environment, so I moved to México in order to get my MSc in
Neuroscience at the Research and Advanced Studies Centre of
the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN).
The aim of my research project was to develop recombinant
adenoviruses leading to cell specific expression of tyrosine
hydroxylase as an alternative for the treatment of
Parkinson’s disease. I am currently conducting PhD studies
in the labs of Dr. Terry Hébert and
Dr. Daniel Bernard
working on cell signaling, specifically pertaining to the
interactions between different members from the TGFβ family
of receptors.
