Research Assistant

I completed my undergraduate degree in pharmacy at the University of Omar Almukhtar in Libya. In 2015, I started my master’s degree at the department of Pharmacology, University of Saskatchewan under the supervision of Dr. Changiz Taghibiglou and Dr. Farzad Moien Afshari. After finishing my master degree, I started to work as a research assistant in a collaborative project between Dr. Paul Clarke and Dr. Terry Hebert. My work involves the use of in vivo fiber photometry to evaluate GPCR mediated signalling in the context of Parkinson's disease (PD). The project aims to establish in vivo recording of FRET based biosensors as a novel tool to evaluate the efficacy of drug interventions that aim to normalize striatal dopamine signalling in PD.
