Alyson Jiang
MSc Student

I graduated from a BSc in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from McGill University in May 2021. During my third year of undergrad, I joined the Hébert lab as a volunteer and then continued in the lab as an Honours student during my fourth year. My Honours project involved writing a literature review on iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte maturation methods and a mock grant proposal on phenotyping dilated cardiomyopathy using iPSC-cardiomyocytes. Having really enjoyed this type of research and work, I decided to pursue a MSc in the Hébert lab! As a MSc student, I will be joining the Heart in a Dish project aiming to characterize dilated cardiomyopathy from patient-derived iPSC-cardiomyocytes to inform personalized approaches to medicine.
