Opportunities for Graduate Students

Vision for training and research
1. We are seeking students at the masters or doctoral level who are concerned with prospects for life on the planet, who wish to work with our group to develop cutting edge research that may help alleviate some of these problems.

2. We are seeking students who will go out into the world with a fuller, rational appreciation of the problems and who can develop innovative solutions to these problems through research or who would work eventually in environmental organizations.

3. Students can be interested in pursuing their degrees in any research area and in any of the host departments, but it is expected that they will require transdisciplinary skills to achieve this.

4. Students who follow our the program would interact with the members of the group.

5. We envision periodic meetings (e.g., weekly “lab.” meetings) where papers would be discussed (“journal club”); projects would be presented and critiqued, and learning would be across various “areas”.

Opportunities for students
We are seeking students interested in pursuing various themes within the context of the grant “A Normative Foundation for Ecological Economics and the Tools for its Assessment.”

Funding is available. Please contact Peter Brown: peter.g.brown@mcgill.ca.
