Born and raised in Iran, Parsa came to Montreal with his family right before starting high school. After graduating from a French high school, he went to the English College of Vanier and studied Health Sciences. Due to some of his close relatives suffering from neurological disorders, Parsa was always interested to learn more about the brain, the behaviour, and their reciprocal relationship. Thus, he spent his undergraduate years studying Behavioural Neuroscience at Concordia University. After being accepted as a Ph.D. rotation student, he decided to spend his first rotation in Dr. Bowie's lab due to his interest in the neurobiology of neurodevelopmental disorders. In his free time, Parsa spends his time practicing and learning the Spanish language, studying history, and working out at the gym. He also used to be a part of the Community Program of the Schulich School of Music at the McGill Conservatory for playing the piano.
