Annabelle Bickerstaff was born and raised in Montreal. She attended Marianopolis College, completing a DEC in Arts & Science. While in her last year of CEGEP, she was the recipient of the Mitacs College-level Research Internship Award (CRIA), a $5000 bursary established by the Fonds de recherche du Québec nature et technologies (FRQNT) in partnership with Mitacs. Under the supervision of Dr. Derek Bowie and Amanda Perozzo, Annabelle learned to perform site-directed mutagenesis of AMPAR DNA. Now a first-year undergraduate at McGill in the Neurosciences program, Annabelle returned to the Bowie lab to help create an online inventory for their cDNA library. She now collaborates with Signe Anderson on an undergraduate AMPAR project.
