Abril is a U2 Computer Science & Biology student at McGill University. Born in Montreal and raised in Mexico, she earned her DEC in Science from John Abbott College, graduating on the Dean’s List. Under the supervision of Dr. Derek Bowie and Dr. David Becerra, she is currently conducting a research project in the Bowie Lab, using computational modeling and simulation to characterize AMPA receptor gating kinetics. Abril is very interested in Bioinformatics and the design of computer algorithms. In her free time, she enjoys reading, indoor cycling and cooking with friends and family.
