Anatomical Pathology

This elective is structured to acquaint students with disease processes by the study of surgical pathology, cytology, and autopsy material and to correlate the clinical and pathological abnormalities. Considerable flexibility is possible so that a student may spend more time in areas of particular interest, such as neuropathology, gynaecological, fetal and neonatal, renal, cardiac, hepatic, or pulmonary pathology, etc. , depending upon the hospital selected and staff available. Participation in teaching conferences is encouraged. The number of students which can be accommodated is variable depending upon the specific hospital. Participating hospitals are listed below:
MUHC (MGH, RVH, MCH, MNH) Dr. C. Bernard 514-412-4495
St. Mary's Hospital Dr. I Roy (514) 345-3511, Ext. 3731
Jewish General Hospital Dr. O. Aleynikova (514) 340-8274

Clinical and Anatomical Pathology

This elective is offered in a smaller community hospital where it is possible for students to work in the hematology, microbiology or clinical chemistry laboratories and to correlate clinical observations with laboratory findings. This program can be combined with Anatomical Pathology and sometimes with Medicine and Surgery:

St. Mary's Hospital

Dr. J. St. Cyr
Dr. I Roy
