The pre-travel clinic is an integral part of the J.D. MacLean Centre for Tropical Diseases at McGill Universityand has been in operation for over 17 years. The juxtaposition of the pre-travel and the tropical disease resources enhances the quality of the pre-travel clinic's risk assessment and recommendations. the Centre is at the Montreal General Hospital, room L10-509.

HOURS: Travelers are seen by appointments that can be made by phoning (514) 934-8462),  FAX. (514) 934-8224. The clinic operates 9:00 to 3:00 daily (Monday to Wednesday) and 9:00-12:00 (Friday)

INFORMATION SOURCES:  Information can also be obtained from the WEB sites listed here. However, WEB site information cannot be as specific and therefore as practical as the information received at a good pre-travel clinic where your detailed travel itinerary can be reviewed with a knowledgeable health care provider. This is particularly important for malaria prophylaxis.

PRICE LIST:        

             The cost of a visit to the Pre-travel Centre is not covered by provincial medical insurance  (e.g. RAMQ). The cost is C$30.00 per visit (25$ each for families ($20 for children under 10). Vaccines are an additional cost that will depend on the vaccines required. Receipts for insurance purposes are supplied. All vaccines are available. Cost is subject to change without notice.
