Medical Education Core Courses 2010-2011
The Faculty of Medicine,
Postgraduate Medical Education office, organizes a
series of seminars (lectures and workshops) for residents and clinical
fellows on selected topics such as the CanMEDS roles (medical expert,
communicator, collaborator, manager, health care advocate, scholar, and
professional) and other related medical topics. These courses are faculty-wide educational
initiatives for residents and clinical fellows. Residents who complete
the session will receive a McGill University, Post Graduate Medical
Education certificate.

Resolution Workshop

Course Description:
During this half-day, the resident will learn different
approaches to addressing and resolving conflicts. During the
workshop portion, residents will have the opportunity to apply these
principles to their own context.

Course Description: The Canadian
Medical Protective Association provides a three-hour case-based interactive session where
the resident will learn about important legal aspects of medical practice.
Topics include: professional and legal issues
such as defining disclosure, obligations to the patient to the
treating team and to the risk and quality management committee, and delegation and supervision of Residents.Registration is closed - Residents Only

Description:
This session will

the importance of the residents’ role as a teacher
