Admission to McGill Postgrad

This section describes the Admission process. 

As a first step in the  Admission process, please ensure that you are eligible, as per the criteria of the McGill Postgraduate Medical Education Office. For information on eligibility requirements, please refer to the section on Eligibility.

Once you have verified that you meet the eligibility requirements, the next step consists of completing the online application: Applying Online.

Please note that Under Special Matches there are exceptional application deadlines.

 

*Application deadline is as follows:

For the Ministry Funded Positions: November 25, 2011

For the Non-Ministry Funded Positions:

PGY-1 residency program applications: August 01, 2011
Subspecialty residency programs & Fellowship applications: September 01, 2011

The on-line application system for the 2012-2013 academic year (201209 - i.e. Fall 2012) will open up as of May 15, 2011.  Candidates who choose to apply before that date compromise their application.  Please only apply after May 15, 2011.   Applicants select 201209 (i.e. Fall 2012) for the academic year starting July 1, 2012.

Important:  Applicants who know they are carrying the Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C virus should consider carefully their intention to practice clinical medicine and govern themselves accordingly.
