The McGill Physiology Virtual Lab

Biomedical Signals Acquisition

The purpose of this laboratory is to introduce you to computer based data acquisition techniques which are currently widely used in physiology research laboratories. The Biological Signals lab is divided into two main sections.

The first section (Waveform Acquisition), will address the key issues which must be considered in order to properly acquire a particular physiological signal.

In the second section (EEG), you will acquire and analyze an actual physiological signal, the electroencephalogram, which is a recording of the electrical activity of the brain obtained from electrodes placed on the scalp.
