I started working in a hospital medical laboratory after
graduation in Medical Laboratory Science (BSc). After a
couple of years, my interest in science persuaded me to
continue my education and eventually, I completed my MSc
in Microbiology. My thesis focused on
antibiotic-resistant bacteria. After immigrating to
Canada, I decided to study in the field of Biomedical
Sciences. In 2018, I was accepted as a graduate student
at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). I received
an MSc in Cardiovascular Science from MUN. I was working
at the lab of Dr. Jessica Esseltine who guided me to
work on Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy
type five. I utilized iPSC-CM as a cell model for my
work in this project. I joined Terry's lab at McGill
University in April 2021 working on the "Heart in a
Dish" project.
