            PHAR 301: CRN 467 Drugs & Diseases

This course explores the basic principles of pharmacology as illustrated by drugs used in the treatment of disease. Emphasis will be placed on drugs used for diseases prevalent in North America. The series of lectures given by Dr. Bowie examine the physiology of the cardiovascular system and the major drug classes used to treat disease states.

            PHAR 562: CRN 901 General Pharmacology I

Neuroreceptors and neurotransmitters. Drugs affecting adrenergic and cholinergic systems. Pharmacology of neuromuscular junction. Pharmacology of central nervous system; anti-psychotic agents, hypnotic and anti-anxiety drugs, anti-convulsants. Pharmacology of pain. The series of lectures given by Dr. Bowie outline the strategies used to clone ion-channels and determine their stoichiometry and structure.
