-
B.Sc. McGill University, major in
Anatomy and Cell Biology
-
Ph.D. candidate, McGill university,
department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, under the
supervision of Dr. Ribeiro-da-Silva. I deposited my
Ph.D. thesis in august 2010 and should be defending

Research Interests:
Current projects:
-
I am currently characterizing the
relationship between intracellular and extracellular
amyloid deposition, inflammation and the cortical
cholinergic system in aged human brains with mild
cognitive impairments and Alzheimer’s disease.
-
I will soon characterize the changes in
cortical somatostanin positive inhibitory neurons in a
transgenic rat model of the amyloid pathology.
-
Another new project will be to
investigate the changes in excitatory and inhibitory
currents in transgenic animals that display an early
amyloid pathology in an attempt to understand the first
physiological changes that lead to cognitive
impairments.
Extracurricular Interests and Activities:
-
I enjoy Jogging and Yoga. I also like
tennis and volleyball; I wish I played more often.
-
I must admit having a thing for Karaoke
singing.
-
I easily get addicted to television
series or to the discovery channel.
