Goodman Cancer Research Centre
The Goodman Cancer Research Centre is the heart of basic cancer research at McGill University. Established in 1978, the Centre coordinates cancer research in the University’s departments and affiliated hospitals. Through its own activities and international collaborations, the Centre focuses on new discoveries and knowledge leading to the prevention and improved treatment of cancer.
Research at the Goodman Cancer Research Centre concentrates on the biochemical, cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in tumourigenesis. A wide variety of areas are under investigation, including signal transduction, differentiation, cell proliferation, gene therapy, radiation resistance and drug development.
The Centre’s work on the cellular and molecular biology of cancer is internationally renowned.
