Each year, at the MUHC, over 80 patients receive a kidney transplant. At the end of 2007 more than 600 patients were followed for routine post-transplant care at the kidney transplant clinic. The majority of these kidneys are from deceased donors, but the MUHC is also a provincial leader in living donor kidney transplantation that offers patients several distinct advantages.
