Projects for Thesis
Supervision:
1. To elucidate the role of PDGF
receptors in the proliferation of gonocytes, the precursor cells of
spermatogonia, and to identify the genes involved in the cross-talk
between PDGF and estrogen receptor pathways in this process. Also to
decipher the role of TSPO (previously called PBR) in germ cells.
2. To understand the mechanisms
regulating the differentiation of gonocytes into spermatogonia and the
establishment of the spermatogonial stem cell niche, more specifically
the role of retinoic acid and PDGFRs in this process.
3. To examine the impact of
environmental exposure (estrogens, phthalates) on gonocyte development
and the possible link between disruption of gonocyte development and
testicular germ cell tumors or infertility.
