Financial Support

It is the rule of the Division that every graduate student must be paid an adequate stipend, a prerequisite for acceptance into either the M.Sc. or the Ph.D. program. This means that all students accepted to our programs must be financially supported either by their supervisor or through studentships or fellowships.

The current minimum annual stipend is:

  • For Canadians and landed immigrants: $14,000 + fees

  • For international students: $14,000 + fees (to a maximum of $8,000)

Prospective students are urged to make every effort to secure their own funding. Applications may be made for a variety of studentships or fellowships administered by the University or by various private, provincial or federal agencies.
