Expertise and Research Interests
My field of research is epidemiology in occupational health. My interest focuses on occupational diseases and, in particular, cancer of occupational origin.
Examples of Research Projects
Exposure to polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and cancer of the urinary bladder and of the lung among workers; occupational and environmental exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) and cancer; vibration white fingers resulting from the use of power tools, in particular the chain saws; colorectal cancer and exposure to polypropylene; low back pain among nursing aides working in ambulatory care program.
I am also interested in the assessment of interventions in the field of occupational safety.
Academic Experience
Professor at Laval University 1973-1982. Professor at McGill University 1982-today
I have developed a distance [on-line] education program (Master’s Degree) for Occupational Health Physicians and other Occupational Health Professionals.
