  • Course Objectives


  • To provide consumers/producers of biomedical research with basic principles of statistical inference applicable to clinical and epidemiologic research so that they can:
    1. understand how statistical methods are used by others
    2. apply them in their own research
    3. use them as a base for more advanced biostatistics courses.

  • September 5 to December 7, 2000.
    Tuesdays (room N2/D2, Stewart Biology Building) and
    Thursdays (room 129, Education Building), both days 9:00--11:00 AM
    (see map for location)


  • Assessment


    • Assignments: 5 X 2% each = 10%
    • Midterm Examination = 30%
    • Project = 15%
    • Final Examination = 45%
    Please note that both exams are open book.
