Patient Clinics

Besides General Dermatology Clinics located at all four hospitals, the McGill Division of Dermatology offers the following specialized services:
 

A- DERMATOLOGIC SURGERY

1. Mohs Micrographic Surgery: Staged excision with immediate microscopic control of malignant cutaneous tumors such as basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, Merkel cell tumors, etc.

 2. Melanoma Clinic: Multidisciplinary clinic with oncology and surgery for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with malignant melanoma

3. Cutaneous Problems in Organ Transplant Recipients: Education of patients about skin care and photoprotection. Regular screening and treatment of pre-malignant and malignant lesions in this high-risk population.

B- LASER SURGERY

Laser Center:  Multidisciplinary center offering the latest state of the art lasers which are used for a variety of medical and cosmetic dermatological conditions.

C- CONTACT DERMATITIS CLINIC

Diagnostic patch-testing for allergic contact dermatitis, photocontact dermatitis, contact urticaria and some types of drug eruptions. Evaluation and treatment of occupational dermatitis. Over 300 standardized allergens are available. Only center in the Province where non-standard or industrial chemicals are routinely prepared for patch testing

D- CUTANEOUS ULCER CLINIC

Provides assessment and management of venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers. Performs vascular studies, uses compression therapy and other specialized biological and non-biological dressings.

E- PHOTOTHERAPY CLINIC

Assessment of cutaneous photosensitivity disorders by measurement of responses to ultraviolet light (UVB and UVA). Treatment of photoresponsive cutaneous diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma with phototherapy (broad- and narrow-band UVB, systemic and topical PUVA)

F- PEDIATRIC DERMATOLOGY

Diagnostic assessment and management of complex dermatological conditions in the pediatric population, such as genodermatoses, histiocytic disorders, autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, hemangiomas, etc.
