The McGill
Dermatology Division is dedicated to the advancement of
clinical care, research and teaching.
The division
is represented by four teaching hospitals: the
Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital,
the Jewish General Hospital and the Montreal Children's
Hospital.
Approximately 25 staff
dermatologists provide exceptional patient care,
specializing in the treatment of skin diseases including
benign and malignant skin tumours. We also have
sub-specialists dedicated to specific problems such as
ulcer and wound care, surgery of skin cancer and light
therapy of chronic skin diseases.
The
McGill Dermatology Division is committed to education,
both undergraduate and graduate. Our
residency program is the oldest training program in
Canada and has trained over 100 top Canadian
dermatologists. The five-year program
provides for the development of a thorough knowledge of
all skin and mucous membrane disorders, and the clinical
management of those diseases.
Research
activities include
multiple clinical trials studying new medications in
development for use in dermatology, and studies in
allergic skin manifestations.
