Echocardiography

There are three adult and one dedicated pediatric echo laboratories at McGill on the various sites.  Echo facilities are also present  at the affiliated hospitals of St. Mary's and the Lakeshore. The 'main' labs are each busy units with multiple echo machines and a wide variety of clinical and research activities.  Studies are all supervised by board certified cardiologists with years of experience in the field. Trainees from the Cardiology Training Program and other areas are active on all sites as well. There have been several recent purchases and upgrades of equipment on all sites. Unfortunately the waiting lists remain long, attesting to the importance and the demand for echocardiography as perhaps, the prime method of noninvasive cardiac assessment..
