Defining microenvironment-induced transcription profiles in breast cancer liver metastases.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Honours Biomedical Toxicology (Co-op) at the University of Guelph. I then joined the Siegel lab in the winter of 2012 as a graduate student and am researching the modulatory effects of the liver microenvironment on breast cancer liver metastasis. I am attempting to identify genes in tumour cells that are differentially expressed in response to the hepatic microenvironment, so that I may elucidate the liver’s role in regulating the growth and survival of metastatic breast cancer cells.
