Projects for Thesis
Supervision:
1. Characterization of the mechanistic phenotype
for the production of emphysema in cigarette smoking exposed mice. These
comprise of the study of inflammation, cytokines, proteinases, cellular
at 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 weeks of smoking exposure.
2. Study of the genetic determinants for the
development of emphysema in mice exposed to cigarette smoke. Resistant
and susceptible strains have been identified. Gene chip technology and
linkage analysis (QTL study) are being used in the project.
