Projects for Thesis
Supervision:
1. Molecular and cellular processes underlying
the antagonizing effect of HIV-1 viral protein U (Vpu) on tetherin, an
IFN-regulated restriction factor that suppresses HIV-1 release.
2. Identification of novel host cell factors
restricting HIV infection in macrophages and dendritic cells that are
regulated by the accessory proteins Vpr/Vpx.
3. HIV-host cell interactions governing viral
assembly, release and transmission.
